LECTURE

Week 1: This is my first class of my study in Taylors University which I am very excited about. My lecturer, Mr. Fauzi explained a bit about what softwares are we going to use in the future. I am very new in using Adobe softwares and I do not know much about the tools yet so I am really looking forward to learn about them in this class.

PRACTICAL

Week 1:

1. Creating a Blog

At the end of the class, Mr. Fauzi tell us that it is essential to create our own personal blog as a design student, to keep on track of our journey and see our progression throughout the years of studying in Taylors Design School. We also got the chance to see some of our senior blogs for references, they are all very well-organized and it motivates me to do mine.

2. Bezier Game

Mr. Fauzi also want us to play the Bezier Game, I have never heard of this game before but lets give it a try. At first, I hated the game very much because I cannot seem to complete the stage at all. But after a lot of mumbling, I think it is actually pretty fun once you can get it right.

3. My Top 3 Design Works from Pinterest

I cannot say that these are my favourite design works I found on Pinterest, because everytime I feel like I have found the ones I like the most, my homepage keeps showing me something better and better.

fig. 3.1 Heart Collage #52 by Jane Davies

I do not have much to say about this one but I really like it because we can see a lot of different shapes, colours and textures in one simple artwork. Also, I think this is a very good example for the collage exercise we are going to do next week!

fig. 3.2 QUOTE by Lindsey Eryn

I have been obsessing over minimalist graphics for a while now. I am in love with every element on this piece especially the spacing between each word on the bottom right, I think it perfectly matches the messages the designer wanted to deliver. The way the artist composed it make her quote looks like a part of song lyrics.

fig 3.3. Vintage Magazine Cover
*I am unable to find the original name and creator*

I am a big fan of comic books, but I am pretty selective in buying ones. In my opinion, the cover design in each is a ride or die. I found this design on Pinterest and I really like the composition and colour combination. It has the foreground, middleground and background. The colour is so vintage and vibrant which somehow makes me happy and curious at the same time!
